Exhibition & Events: Membranes, Hypha Studios, London. 1 March - 7 April

I am honoured to be a part of “MEMBRANES: Interactions and Intentions between Bodies, Biomes and Technologies”, a bumper-brimming-spilling exhibition- events-symposium programme curated by the one and only Dr. Jennifer Crouch running until 7th April at Hypha Studios, Stratford.

Six art-science practitioners are stitched together through the ‘membrane’…the word we are using to denote the site at which bio-geo-chemical exchange occurs between entities and environments. The works in this exhibition explore the body as multiple at different scales: as atomic, molecular, cellular, organism, relational, community, ecosystem and as biogeochemical entities.

I am presenting a piece of research..... A T M O S T H E O R Y. The English language is showered with weather-flavoured lexicon that embodies both physical and emotional effects-affects - “creating an atmosphere”, “blowing hot and cold”, “temperate”, “a load of hot air”, “feeling incensed”. A T M O S T H E O R Y is a series of score cards presented as a ‘precipitous’ glossary and zine. The words invite us to reflect on our personal lived experience, expose uneven effects of weathers that have been intentionally ‘clouded over’ and imagine possibilities for re(air)conditioning to the world otherwise.

Other exhibiting artists include: Jennifer Crouch, Georgina Hopkin, Molly Bonnell, Fawziyah Rahman, Ella Justine Frost.  Alongside events throughout an Art Science Symposium will unfold over a week between Tues 26-Sun 31 March.

Head to the microsite for ALL the details, and Eventbrite to book tickets!
